Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics

Google search statistics

I’ve been using Google’s personalized Search History function since October. Recently, they added a feature called “Trends” which offers statistics concerning your search activity by month, day, and hour, which searches you perform most often, which sites you visit most often from search, and so on. I think the graphic for my search activity by hour (above) is surprisingly indicative of my daily schedule. You can see (by looking at when I’m not searching on Google) when I usually sleep (between 2 am and 10 am), when I eat lunch and dinner (noon and 5 pm) and when I generally do things in the evening (8 pm and 10 pm).
